I have over 15 years of experience working with children and families. I specialize working with trauma, depression, anxiety and PTSD. I also have experience working with clients who are in crisis, providing immediate support and intervention in times of acute emotional distress.
Often current situations are a symptom of underlying past trauma that permeates our daily lives. We will work together to uncover and confront these issues. In this approach, the development of a preferred solution is more important than clarifying and directly addressing the problem.
I adhere to a Solution-Focused approach, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Reality Therapy in counseling. This means that rather than focusing solely on the individual’s presenting concern. I explore client strengths and counter-productive cycles of thought and behavior to help the client gain insight into their situation and solutions.
We will work together on goals that we develop together, concentrating on identifying and changing old patterns and improving communication. I have over 14 years of experience working with children and families.
